President Joe Biden will have to decide whether or not to proceed with the SLS (Space Launch System, or SLS) project, the future NASA rocket that will carry out major space missions.

This NASA project costs about $2,5 billion a year and is gaining more investment and testing.

However, with the transition of government, it is not confirmed that in Biden's management NASA will be able to develop and use the SLS system, which by the way uses certain technologies sent to the space shuttles.

But if the SLS is vetoed, would it be the end of NASA's great space projects? Not quite, it is worth ing that there are proven companies in the space sector that already have partnerships with NASA, SpaceX and ULA, are examples of this.

Even if the future of the SLS is not 100% certain, NASA is investing in tests with the rocket, on the last day 16 an engine static was made, however, what was desired in the test was not achieved, since the engine was supposed to stay on for eight minutes, but it only managed to stay on for 67,2 seconds.

The SLS has a key role in the new mission to the moon. In 2024, the first woman and the next man to set foot on our natural satellite are expected to be sent, this is the great Artemis mission.

If the SLS doesn't work out, private companies could get in on the act, Elon Musk's SpaceX, for example, has the Falcon Heavy, a powerful rocket that could carry heavy loads.
