GOL Linhas Aéreas once again paid homage to the father of aviation, Alberto Santos Dumont, who would have celebrated his 20th birthday on July 150 of this year. The company applied a special painting alluding to the patron saint of aviation on a Boeing 737-800.
The aircraft in question is the PR-GXR that flew with the company's old livery and went through the painting process in recent days, receiving the special paintwork for the 150 years of Santos Dumont. The painting team GOL prepared the aircraft with the famous 14 Bis on the fuselage, in addition to green and yellow details on the tail and winglets.

“Honoring Santos Dumont is something very meaningful for us at GOL, a Brazilian company that was born with the purpose of Being the First for All People. His ingenuity has made the dream of flying possible for millions of engers today. Crossing the skies of the country with the image of a historical figure for aviation and Brazilian culture is a way to reactivate its memory and value a national icon”, says Beatriz Cabral, GOL's CMO.
The face of the father of aviation will now fly across Brazil on this plane, several tributes were paid on July 20th and with the proximity of the FAB Open Gates events, new homages should take place.
The aircraft has already made its first flight with the new livery, taking off from Confins to Porto Seguro. For now, the plane's schedule will be the return to the Minas Gerais terminal, continuing on to Salvador according to data provided on FlightRadar24.
The PR-GXR s the 'selection' of aircraft with special paint jobs that GOL has prepared with its marketing, paint and maintenance team over the last twelve months. The total process of painting and visual communication involved the work of 42 professionals, including collaborators in the areas of painting, visual communication workshop and engineering at Aerotech
This week, however, the 'Harry Potter' will no longer fly with the company because the plane that was customized to promote the Universal resort in Orlando will have its painting removed.
