GOL Linhas Aéreas continues to remove slightly older aircraft from its fleet to make way for new aircraft. This time, another Boeing 737-800 NG was returned by the airline.
The aircraft in question was the PR-GTB, a new aircraft delivered from the factory to GOL in August 2006, a few weeks after receiving its 'brother' PR-GTA. This 737-800 was the second aircraft received by the Brazilian company with the Short Field Performance (SFP) package.
The PR-GTB flew for GOL for 17 uninterrupted years, including receiving a new livery in 2016 and then a brand update in 2018. The aircraft had not flown since April, during this period it underwent the check process to be returned.

The plane followed the same route taken by its brother 'PR-GTA', taking off from Confins at 21:55 pm last Monday (24) and landing at 05:54 am (local time) in Espargos on Sal Island. The crew had a rest day before continuing their journey on Tuesday (25), departing at 07:00 am (local time) for Liege in Belgium. The Boeing landed at 15:27 pm (local time)
It is likely that it will also follow the same path of being converted into a freighter, but just like the former 'Flaghship' of GOL, should not return to the Brazilian company and be transferred to another operator.
