GOL Airlines disclosed last week to its investors which entered into a leasing contract with Castlelake, with the aim of receiving more Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
According to the company, two 737 MAX 8 aircraft will be leased from Castlelake under an operating lease.
Still at Castlelake, GOL signed a lease agreement for the financial leasing of 10 737 MAX 8 aircraft. This type of lease normally includes the transfer of the aircraft to the airline after the end of the lease.
Previously, GOL also disclosed other contracts closed with leasing companies, usually in the first weeks of the year. These contracts typically indicate the next deliveries of aircraft over the next 12 months.

GOL previously released a projection where it expects to end 2022 with 44 737 MAX 8 aircraft, about 32% of the fleet that will end this year.
According to data from GOL itself, it ended 2021 with 28 737 MAX 8 aircraft in its fleet. The company plans to receive another 16 aircraft of the new model this year, including an aircraft has already arrived in Brazil in recent days.
In all, GOL has a total order for 135 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, 30 of which are for the MAX 10 version.
The company expects to replace all of its 737 NG planes with the 737 MAX over the next few years, which the company was the first in the world to resume commercial flights with the aircraft after the new updates.
