Currently, Gol, which is one of the largest airlines in Brazil and only operates the Boeing 737 model, in the -700 and -800 versions, but this Thursday the company said it is studying the purchase of the new generation Ejet jets manufactured by Embraer. Â “GOL is always evaluating new opportunities for its business. It is currently studying the possibility of purchasing aircraft from the new Embraer E2 family. These jets would be used on routes that justify the use of aircraft with 130 to 140 seats”, said the company to Broadcast, real-time news service of Agência Estado.
GOL would benefit from the government's regional aviation plan by placing these aircraft in its fleet, as the proposed plan includes a subsidy of 50% of aircraft seats on both origin/destination flights.
Despite having announced interest, it has not yet been confirmed which model will enter the fleet, ing again that the new E2 are composed of the E2-175, 190 and 195 model, the first to be launched will be the E2-190 in 2018, but there are indications of that is the largest version of the E2, the 195, the capacity of the model is from 132 to 144 seats.
