In the coming weeks, the bidding process for contracting works for the Araguaína Airport /TO will begin, under the responsibility of the Tocantins municipality.
The first stage, already authorized by MInfra, meets the need to regularize the airport's runway lanes, as determined by ANAC, and is estimated at R$ 13,56 million.
The second stage of the works, which comprises the renovation of the airport, still depends on the elaboration of the basic project by the city hall. The total investment by the Federal Government is estimated at R$ 49 million.
The basic project for this stage was prepared by the municipality, with the of a consultancy from Infraero, and provides for the regularization of the runway, safety area at the head of the landing and takeoff runway (RESAs), new drainage and operational fence.
The investments are aimed at the future non-precision instrumented operation of large aircraft. The Araguaína terminal is managed by the municipality and has the potential to handle more than 150 engers a year.
The bidding notice should be published by the municipality in the next few weeks and the schedule foresees the conclusion of these works in 12 months, with a scheduled start soon after the rainy season, in view of the large volume of earthmoving required.
Regarding the other works foreseen in the Term of Commitment, the municipality is working on structuring a term of reference/basic project for contracting the projects, which will cover the expansion and renovation of the enger terminal, renovation of the section against fire, recovery of pavements, aid navigation, among others.
The forecast is that this public notice for hiring a designer will be published in the 1st half of 2021, after acceptance of the TR by MInfra.
