The State Secretariat for Infrastructure and Logistics is allocating R$ 4,5 million for asphalt resurfacing at Cornélio Procópio airport, over an extension of 1.680 meters. Equipment for night taxiing will also be installed on site.
O airport which has an area of 42,7 square meters, is one of the terminals that receive flights from the Voe Paraná program. Created by Governor Ratinho Junior to boost regional aviation, the program was paralyzed during the most critical period of the Covid-19 pandemic. Last year, direct flights connecting cities in the interior to Curitiba were resumed.
The mayor of Cornélio Procópio, Amin Hannouche, stated that the investments represent a present for the 84th anniversary of the city. “Investments in the municipal airport, which will undergo a major revitalization, including night beaconing. These are works that benefit the entire northern region of Paraná”, he said.
“It is an essential program for regional development. Here in Cornélio Procópio, in addition to benefiting the surrounding municipalities by attracting new investments, it is also an important incentive for tourism, which has grown a lot in this region”, highlighted the state secretary for Infrastructure and Logistics”, Sandro Alex.
