The proposal for voluntary self-regulation was very well received by representatives of air operators (airlines, air taxis, agricultural aviation and general aviation).

“Abesata's initiative, establishing a quality reference standard for companies that prove their levels of safety and technical capacity, is very welcome for the airline industry. This certification can positively enhance the existing requirements, providing airlines operating in Brazil with a reliable basis for choosing their suppliers in the sector”, said the director of operations at Abear (Brazilian Association of Airlines), Ruy Amparo.

For Flávio Pires, director of ABAG (Brazilian Association of General Aviation), civil aviation is an extremely rigorous sector with regard to safety in its operations and manufacture of aircraft, parts and pieces. Therefore, the requirement of homologations and certifications in its activities is routine and a differential in the choice of suppliers.

“For these reasons, CRES is very welcome in our market as one more contribution to legal and business security in the provision of essential services to airline operations.”

In the opinion of the president of Abesata, Ricardo Aparecido Miguel, it is very gratifying to see that the market is understanding the certification proposal as a differential for those hiring, an extra security when choosing a provider of ground services.

“In the recent past, we have seen severe problems faced by airlines, including huge liabilities left by troubled companies”, said Miguel.

The certification program is made up of a matrix with five dimensions: regulatory, financial, operational, people and ESG (environment, social and corporate governance). Today, ground handling companies in Brazil for 95% of operations on the ground, from aircraft cleaning and handling, enger transport and service, baggage, check-in, cargo handling, inspection channel for enger boarding, among others. other modalities.

Companies that wish to be certified will need to present a series of documents that prove regular operating conditions and a healthy structure, guaranteeing the safety of those contracting, airline or airport, in addition to being able to serve as a reference for inspection by government agencies.

The analysis criteria involve eliminatory and other qualifying aspects, totaling a maximum sum of 100 points. More information at www.cres.abesata.org
