GRU Airport, the concessionaire that manages São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos, recorded the movement of 191,0 thousand tons of cargo between January and August 2023. Of this total, around 91,4 thousand tons represent imported items, being 870,5 tons of cargo processed through couriers warehouses. In turn, exports totaled 99,7 thousand tons handled, of which 1,7 tons were processed.
In the month of July, 344,3 tons of cargo were handled in courier warehouses. Of this total, around 112,6 tonnes refer to imports and 231,7 to exports. In the month of August, there were 345,5 tons of cargo in courier warehouses and of this total, 102,3 refers to imports and 243,2 tons to exports.

From January to August, TECA GRU was responsible for 43% of all air imports carried out in the country, while exports totaled 52% of movement, consolidating the airport as the main logistics terminal in of volume handled in Brazil (Comex Stat, September 2023).
Among the most transported products in the period are items from the automotive, pharmaceutical, machinery, electronics and textile segments, with respectively 24%, 19%, 18%, 10% and 9% of the market share of nationalized cargo processed at the GRU Cargo Terminal Airport. Also noteworthy is the express shipments segment, which benefits from GRU's extensive air network and dedicated operations to increase delivery speed.
Route network
Guarulhos Airport connects São Paulo to 52 domestic destinations and 54 international destinations, being consolidated as one of the main air hubs in Latin America. Currently, 35 airlines operate in GRU, 32 for international movement and 8 for transporting cargo to other countries via cargo aircraft.
TECA GRU is the largest airport complex in the country, located in an area of approximately 100 m² and which houses the largest airport refrigerated complex in Brazil, with approximately 33.000 m³ of import and export storage capacity. The 24 cold chambers reach all temperature ranges and serve all types of products. In addition, the space has 440 positions for refrigerated import containers.
