GRU Airport starts offering international cargo transfer service

The Cargo Terminal (TECA) at São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos, managed by GRU Airport, now has the flow of international cargo transfer (Transshipment).

This new service makes it possible to carry out all international cargo transfers after a deconsolidation and subsequent consolidation process and with the possibility of switching to any airline. This is a unique service in Brazil, using GRU — TECA as a consolidation point to and from South America.

“This new service is the result of a year of t work with the Federal Revenue to streamline and facilitate the process. Thus, it is possible to promote the creation of alternative routes for airlines, freight forwarders and consignees to move cargo more efficiently, which is extremely important to strengthen trade in Brazil and for the airport to remain in the leading position in South America. ”, says João Pita, Commercial and Cargo Director at GRU Airport.

The Transhipment procedure, regulated by local ordinance ALF/GRU Nº 46, is allowed for cargo coming from abroad, ed by bills of lading of the HAWB (House Air Waybill) type, ing through the GRU Airport and subsequent boarding on international flights.
