Andrea Cola, who is the granddaughter of Camilo Cola, founder of the transport group, made the warnings with her grandfather in 2020 before the company started its operations in the airline sector.

Andrea worked as an executive at Grupo Itapemirim for about 16 years, but with the sale of the company for a symbolic amount of R$ 1 to Sidnei Piva, the heiress left the transport company.

During the interview, she stressed that Sidnei Piva did not honor his commitments made with the sale and stated that the businessman would not comply with other post-sale commitments.

“In 2020, I went with my grandfather to Brasília and we alerted Minister Tarcísio [Freitas, head of Infrastructure] about what was happening in the judicial recovery. We warned that just as Sidnei [Piva, owner of Itapemirim] did not honor commitments signed with us, he would not honor the country. It wasn't for lack of warning. He gave what he gave ”. Andrea Cola said in an interview.

Now the granddaughter of the transport group's founder is fighting in court to regain part of the Itapemirim Group's assets.

“I've been trying to denounce the scams, but they accuse me of disturbing the process, of doing litigation in bad faith. I've already taken several fines from Justice." Andrea Cola said.

“If he stays, it will be a matter of time (for bankruptcy). With a bona fide manager, companies can still be saved.” completed.

Now, a new trial is due to take place on March 6. Piva is the target of accusations for diverting money that would be destined to pay the agreements related to the judicial recovery of the land transport group for the airline ITA.

Since Itapemirim stopped flying, more than R$ 4,8 million was consumed from the group's cash, which is still in judicial recovery since 2016.

In a note, the Itapemirim Group said:

“By accusing the businessman Sidnei Piva, Mrs. Andrea forgets that he was the one who prevented the end of the Itapemirim Group, while the Cola family, whose history can be found in the thousands of pages of the dozens of investigations that are being processed by the Justice that she accuses of ' irresponsible'".
