Helibras signed a contract for the use of an area, which guarantees that its headquarters will remain at Campo de Marte Airport, in São Paulo, for 20 years. This initiative demonstrates the confidence that Airbus has in the Brazilian helicopter market. The contract was signed during Labace, the largest executive aviation fair in Latin America, which took place between the 8th and 10th of August.

São Paulo has the largest fleet of helicopters and concentrates the highest traffic of these aircraft in the world. Helibras has been operating in Campo de Marte since 1998. Staying in Campo de Marte for over 20 years demonstrates the company's commitment to better serving local customers, due to its strategic location. Operators have every facility to keep their helicopters in the heart of the city of São Paulo. “One of the primary needs of helicopter owners and operators, both in the public sphere and in business aviation, is to keep their aircraft available and ready to fly. This proximity to customers allows us to offer the best convenience and response time. We are at the best airfield for executive aviation in São Paulo”, celebrates Alberto Duek, president of Helibras.

In addition to maintenance and repair activities, the company concentrates part of its commercial office, paint booth, parts inventory, among other activities. The manufacturer is a leader in the Brazilian helicopter market and the main supplier of aircraft, maintenance services and parts replacement for public and private customers. In the public sector alone – which includes the military and civil police, fire brigade and other government agencies – the company holds more than 80% market share.

The contract for the use of the area is the first of its kind signed by PAX Aeroportos, an investee of XP Asset Management, which won the airport concession for 30 years, in an auction held by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). This initiative also emphasizes the beginning of a commercial partnership between the two business groups and the perspective of big business in the future.

“In Campo de Marte, we have an important operation by the Military Police of São Paulo, which uses Helibras equipment. Therefore, for PAX Aeroportos, this close relationship with one of the largest helicopter manufacturers in the world is extremely important”, says Rogério Prado, CEO of PAX Aeroportos.
