About 1 million of engers must through Confins Airport this month, showing a 25% growth compared to January 2022. In relation to the same pre-pandemic period (January 2020), this index represents a 94% recovery.

Between landings and takeoffs, BH Airport expects to operate 8,7 aircraft this month. On the peak day alone, January 2, the international terminal in Minas Gerais recorded a flow of over 31 engers and handled almost 2 aircraft, between landings and takeoffs.  

During high season, period between December 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023, BH Airport should receive approximately 2 million engers, demonstrating the progressive evolution in transactions compared to previous years, despite the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on operations. In the high season 2021/2022, BH Airport received around 1,8 million engers. In the same period from 2020 to 2021, the flow was around 1,3 million. The goal for 2023 is to close the year with a movement of 11,3 million, reaching pre-pandemic levels. 

In addition to the increased frequency of flights to coastal cities in high season, engers have new options for destinations in the cities of Juiz de Fora, Paracatu, Patos de Minas, Teófilo Otoni and Varginha, flying with Azul Conecta. On average, there are two departures per week for each city. The resumption of flights to Lençóis (BA) and the new routes to Aracaju (SE), Caldas Novas (GO), Navegantes (SC) and Santarém (PA) are also new features for Azul.  

New route to Piauí 

As of March 2, miners will also be able to fly to Parnaíba, in Piauí, with a stopover in Jericoacoara, in Ceará. Parnaíba, the second most populous municipality in Piauí, is known for being one of the stops on the Route of Emotions. Located in the far north of Piauí, the city's main tourist attraction is the beautiful natural scenery of the Parnaíba Delta. The destination also includes a tour of the islands that surround the dunes, as well as small excursions by boat, speedboat and jeep. 

Azul flight AD4510 will depart from BH Airport on Thursdays and Sundays at 9:20 am, landing in Jericoacoara at 12:05 pm. The same flight takes off from Ceará at 12:55 pm, arriving in Parnaíba at 13:40 pm. Soon after, the AD 4510 leaves the city of Piauí at 14:30 pm and returns to BH Airport, with an expected arrival at 17:35 pm. The flights will be carried out by Embraer E2 aircraft, with capacity to carry up to 136 engers.
