Purchase options for 12 A320neo aircraft have been converted into firm orders by the IAG Group, which has also ordered a further 25 A320neo and A321neo aircraft, as well as an additional 50 purchase options.

This firm order for 37 aircraft is scheduled for deliveries between 2025 and 2028, and these aircraft will replace the A320ceo currently in service.

“The exact combination of A320neos and A321neos will be decided closer to delivery dates”, highlighted the group in a statement. The order is subject to shareholder approval, notes the IAG.

IAG also signed a deal for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX jets earlier this year, and has deliveries of the A320neo and A321neo scheduled for 2023 and 2025, on recent additional orders that were placed separately.
