Socicam, a private airport operator in Brazil, has made several investments in infrastructure in the projects under its management, which translate into increased security and operational capacity. Consequently, these improvements, awaited by airlines and the population, enabled significant growth in the movement of engers and aircraft in the first half of the year, as evidenced by Zona da Mata Airport, in Minas Gerais, which recorded a 218% increase in boardings and landings and 113% in the number of landings and takeoffs compared to the same period of the previous year.
In addition to Zona da Mata Airport, other important developments recorded impressive performance. Sinop Airport, in Mato Grosso, ed 43% more engers in the first six months of the year, with a 13% increase in aircraft movements. There was also a 9% increase in enger movement and 11% in aircraft movement at Cuiabá International Airport, in addition to a 9% increase in boarding and disembarking and a 3% increase in aircraft movement at Rondonópolis Airport.
In Bahia, Vitória da Conquista Airport received 40% more people and 18% more aircraft, while Comandatuba Airport ed 20% more engers and 3% more aircraft movements.
An important piece of equipment for air mobility in the west of Santa Catarina, Chapecó Airport, recently expanded and modernized, recorded a 24% increase in the number of engers and a 14% increase in aircraft arrivals and departures. In the state of São Paulo, São José do Rio Preto Airport increased enger movement by 32% and aircraft movement by 12%, followed by Presidente Prudente Airport, with 35% in enger volume and 10% in aircraft volume. .
New concession
At the beginning of August, Norte da Amazônia Airports (NOA), a company that was born from the partnership between Socicam and DIX Empreendimentos, took over the management of Macapá – Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport for the next 30 years. On September 4, the company also took over Belém International Airport.
