According to Cadier, LATAM currently pays wages 20 to 30% higher compared to competitors, which could make the company's recovery in the future unfeasible. For this reason, the airline seeks a negotiation at the TST (Superior Labor Court), since negotiations with the SNA were unsuccessful.

Jerome Cadier also pointed out that LATAM Brasil may make layoffs in the future, if the agreement is not reached. In the interview, Cadier even spoke of having the airline “born again”, if an agreement is not reached.

in recent months we even quote a possible move that LATAM could make is to “outsource” its crew, something difficult to accomplish, or even move the entire operation to another company, with new employment contracts.

“We understand that it is an uncomfortable situation for the union, even because of the pioneering nature of the measure. It's not just the aeronauts' union that doesn't want to approve it, but all the unions, who think it's a defeat. On the other hand, defeat is not having a job, not having a viable business”, said Jerome Cadier.

In addition, with the various financial contributions, the resumption of flights, and the restructuring of the airline, LATAM should leave Chapter 11 in mid-2021, according to Cadier.

He also took the opportunity to praise the codeshare between LATAM and Azul in Brazil, only on domestic flights, adding that it is improving air ticket sales for both companies.
