The Indian Navy is awaiting a green ending from the government to make a final decision on a new aircraft carrier to be operated by the Indian military, Indian Navy Chief iral Karambir Singh said on Friday.
“If you look at the design from the 1950s, it was built on three aircraft carriers, so two are always available when one is under repair. We look forward to the government making a decision on the third aircraft carrier,” Singh told reporters.

The reason for having a third aircraft carrier is also connected with China, which every year invests more in the war industry and in the naval part, the Chinese will have 4 aircraft carriers and this worries India a lot.
India already has an active aircraft carrier, the INS Vikramaditya (Video above) of 45.400 tons, whose main aircraft is the MIG-29K fighter. The 40.000-ton INS Vikrant is already being built at the shipyard. The vessel should be ready between 2022-2023.
The third aircraft carrier would be named INS II and will have a gross weight of 65.000 tons. However, you must have the endorsement of the Indian government, as a vessel of this size has a very high value.
