In recent days, Itapemirim Transportes Aéreos disclosed in an internal statement that it will be sending three planes abroad, with the purpose of “performing the maintenance of these aircraft”.
However, in a publication made this Thursday by the Congress in Focus, such shipment of aircraft abroad is due to the request of the company Carlyle Aviation Partners to request the return of these aircraft.
A search by AEROFLAP on the website system airfleets.net indicates that the PS-AAF, PS-ITA and PS-SFC aircraft they are leased through Carlyle Aviation Partners, and can be “returned” by the airline, despite the latter claiming that the movement is only for maintenance.
With this return, ITA will have only four aircraft in its fleet.
Without flying since December 17, Itapemirim had in its plans to have up to 10 aircraft in operation in October this year, expanding to about 50 planes and 35 commercial routes by June 2022, something that did not materialize.
With plans to resume operations in February 2022, Itapemirim will have to obtain a new Air Operator Certificate (AOC), currently suspended by ANAC.
The certificate was issued in April of this year, and a few months later, on the first day of July 2021, after winning the grant that authorized it to carry out commercial flights, Itapemirim began its operations.
