At the moment, three aircraft that are still part of the Itapemirim Air Transport took off from Guarulhos (GRU) towards São José dos Campos (SJK).
Apparently, the trip to São José dos Campos will be used for customs clearance of the aircraft before heading to the United States.
As first published by Congress Portal in Focus, the three aircraft are ed PS-FGM, PS-SPJ e PS-TCS which should travel in the next few days to Blytheville Airport, located in the state of Arkansas, in the United States. The flights were requested by the lessor UMB Bank, owner of the aircraft.
With this, only two aircraft will remain in Brazil in the Itapemirim fleet, one A319 (PS-SIL) is at TAP ME in Galeão, in addition to another A320 (PS-AAF) that is being cannibalized in São José dos Campos.
Without flying since December 17, 2021, Itapemirim surprised its customers with flights booked throughout Brazil after announcing the stoppage of its operations. After the incident, ANAC suspended its Air Operator Certificate (COA), as well as the sale of airline tickets until the company starts to comply with requests for reimbursement and the re-accommodation of engers.
