Leonardo closes important contracts during LABACE 2023

Leonardo confirms its leadership position in the private transport helicopter market with new contracts in Latin America, announced during official ceremonies held at LABACE 2023, which takes place between August 8 and 10 in São Paulo.

One such agreement was with Gruppomodena SA, which was appointed as the official distributor of Leonardo helicopters for the civil markets in Uruguay and Argentina, including the AW119Kx, AW109 legacy, AW169 and AW139 models. The company also signed a contract for two AW119Kx single-engine helicopters. A major player in Latin America in the helicopter sector, this partner is also an established operator of AW109 and AW139 helicopters, which perform a variety of roles including enger transport, offshore transport and rescue, in addition to acting as a service center. authorized for the reference market.

In addition to Gruppomodena SA, another private operator placed an order for an AW109 GrandNew light twin-engine helicopter to operate in Brazil. All light helicopter contracts announced at LABACE will feature custom VIP interiors and will be used for private/corporate transport in relevant geographic regions.

In addition, Gualter Helicopters (Aero Service Representação), Leonardo's distributor in Brazil for the latest generation AW09 single-engine model, signed contracts with three different end s for three executive transport aircraft. These achievements come two months after the appointment of Gualter Helicopters, which had already signed preliminary contracts for the sale of 20 AW09 units in Brazil in March, evidencing strong interest from potential operators in acquiring the model. Acquired three years ago by Leonardo, the AW09 perfectly complements the company's product range in the Long Light Single segment, an aircraft of an entirely new design and with the potential to sustain a long-term competitive positioning in its weight class.
