LATAM and Zurich Airport Brasil announce first cargo route between Europe and Florianópolis

The cargo of the LATAM group and Zurich Airport Brasil revealed during Intermodal South America 2024 that from April they will have the first cargo route between Europe and Florianópolis (SC). The operation, carried out by LATAM Cargo Chile and subject to confirmation of slots, will be operated twice a week on Boeing 767-300F cargo aircraft, with a capacity of more than 50 tons. The new, unprecedented route facilitates the import of cargo from Europe into the South of Brazil, making the transport of pharmaceuticals, general cargo, automobiles and spare parts more dynamic on direct flights between the two regions. In the capital of Santa Catarina, it is worth ing, LATAM Cargo Brasil tripled the capacity of its Miami-Florianópolis cargo route in December 2023. The operation, inaugurated in August 2020, has three weekly flights on Boeing 767-300F cargo aircraft with capacity for more than 50 tons on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Furthermore, in October 2023 the Amsterdam-Curitiba freight route was opened – operated by LATAM Cargo Chile. Initially with two weekly flights, in January 2024 the route's capacity was tripled and today it operates with Boeing 767-300F cargo aircraft, flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
