LATAM employees cannot be hired by a new outsourced company

Although Orbital/WFS has opened 1500 new positions to take over LATAM's operations at the airports of Guarulhos, in São Paulo, and Galeão, in Rio de Janeiro, the company will not be able to hire the 1300 employees dismissed by the airline.

This is caused by the current labor law, which prohibits hiring to perform the same function without 18 months having ed since the date of dismissal.

This movement prevents a company from replacing its self-hiring workforce and rehiring those same employees to work for that company, only with a different CNPJ and other wages.

The workers fired by the company were from the ramp and cleaning sectors (ground handling), ground equipment management (except aircraft), and customer service with lost or damaged luggage (lost luggage). Around 1000 affected workers are based at Guarulhos Airport, and 350 at Galeão.

Orbital/WFS is focused on training new employees, who will be implemented in the LATAM network starting in September. The company offers services such as aircraft handling, aircraft loading and unloading, cargo handling, security services, enger service, equipment maintenance, training and technical assistance.
