LATAM expands its flight offer on the Santiago-Melbourne route

LATAM has just announced the expansion of its flight offer on the Santiago (Chile)-Melbourne (Australia) route, from 3 to 4 weekly frequencies, between December 2024 and March 2025, during the summer season.

In addition to the increased offer to Melbourne from December 1st this year, LATAM also offers 4 weekly frequencies on the Santiago (Chile)-Sidney (Australia) route and 6 weekly frequencies on the Santiago (Chile)-Auckland (New Zealand) route. -Sidney (Australia).

During the four months scheduled for operation of the Santiago-Melbourne route, LATAM expects to transport around 37 thousand engers on the route, approximately 4 thousand of which to/from Brazil. Tickets are now available for sale at latam.com and other company channels. 

Brazilians will be able to fly to the international destination from the airports of São Paulo/Guarulhos, Rio de Janeiro/Galeão, Curitiba (PR), Florianópolis (SC), Brasília (DF) and Belo Horizonte/Confins on trips connecting in the Chilean capital and total average duration of 22 hours. The Santiago-Melbourne route will be operated on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, with takeoff at 00:55 (local time). On the reverse route, flights will be operated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with takeoff at 12pm (local time). The trips will be made on Boeing 787-9 aircraft (capacity for 300 engers - 30 Business, 57 Economy and 213 Economy).

 

Direct flights between Santiago and Sidney

From October 27th, the LATAM Airlines Group will resume its longest direct route with direct flights between Santiago, Chile, and Sydney, Australia. There are more than 11,3 kilometers that separate the two cities. With the return of operations, engers will be able to make this journey in less than 15 hours. The direct flight reduces travel time by four hours compared to the flight that stops in Auckland, New Zealand.

Flights from the Chilean capital to Sydney will take off on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 01:40 (local time), arriving at their destination at 06:30 (local time). And from Sydney, departures will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 12:10 pm (local time), arriving in Santiago at 11 am (local time). The company estimates it transports more than 200 travelers per year, whether for business or tourism.
