Air transport market indicators continue to show a gradual recovery in the sector. The Demand and Supply data for October 2021, released this Monday (22/11) by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), point to a smaller retraction when compared to pre-pandemic indices.
In October, the retraction of demand (in RPK) and supply (in ASK) in the domestic market was 16,4% and 16,7% respectively, when compared to the same month of 2019. In all, 6,3 were shipped million engers, around 73% of total departures in October 2019.
In the data above, we can see that LATAM once again led the domestic aviation market, now opening up an advantage for Azul, which was in 2nd place, almost sharing space with GOL, which had a broad recovery of its flights in October. Before the pandemic, GOL and LATAM alternated between the leadership, according to the month.
The average occupancy rate in the domestic market was 84,3%. LATAM led in this regard, reaching a good occupancy rate of 86,1% of its aircraft, GOL was in second position, with 84,3%, while Azul had an equally good average occupancy of 82,8% of its seats.
In the pure regional business, Voe (aredo + MAP) led the market, followed by Azul Conecta and Omni. Aerosul recently started its flights and is already on the ANAC list, the company uses the 9-seat Cessna Grand Caravan for regional flights in the south of the country.
International market
Although international market indicators remain further from pre-pandemic levels, the October indices indicate a reduction in the follow-up retraction. enger demand was 67,4% lower than that recorded in 2019.
The offer had a reduction of 60,6% in comparison with the same period. On the other hand, cargo transport maintained its growth rate, with a total increase of 23,7%.
The comparison of the indicators presented with the same period of 2019 has been carried out in this way, considering that, two years ago, aviation was not under the impact of the pandemic caused by Covid-19, which has affected air transport for at least 19 months.
The indicators presented, as well as the base history, are available for consultation on the page Demand and Supply Reports (Click on the link to access).
