Around 09:20 am today, an Airbus A321 from LATAM Brasil (PT-MXM) that was flying LA3300 between Guarulhos (GRU) and Florianópolis, ended up partially leaving the runway.
In a video that is being shared on social media, you can see the pilots safely stopping the aircraft while the plane is hydroplaning.
After the incident, the front landing gear got stuck in the grass, while the right main landing gear sank after the asphalt of the runway gave way, as well as one of the tires ended up bursting. At the time of landing it was raining a lot and the weather was quite cloudy, no one was injured.

Due to the incident, runways 14/32 at Florianópolis airport are closed for takeoffs and landings.
"Zurich Airport Brasil, the airport's concessionaire, informs that runway 14/32 is currently closed for takeoffs and landings. The concessionaire works with the airline to assist engers and works with the other competent bodies to release the runway as soon as possible.".
The LATAM Group informs that the Airbus A321 aircraft (PT-MXM) exceeded the runway limits on the landing of flight LA 3300 (São Paulo/Guarulhos-Florianópolis) at 9:20 am this Wednesday (12/07). All the necessary for the safe disembarkation of engers and crew was carried out.
The Recovery Team is already in transit to remove the aircraft from the site of the incident in Florianópolis this Wednesday (12/07) and has already notified all engers with affected flights in the capital of Santa Catarina.

LATAM reinforces that all 172 engers and 7 crew of flight LA 3300 (São Paulo/Guarulhos-Florianópolis) were safely disembarked and released after evaluation by the medical team. The action was taken after the incident with the Airbus A321 aircraft (PT-MXM), which exceeded the runway limits on landing at the Santa Catarina airport.
