LATAM receives the 3rd Boeing 767BCF freighter of 2022

LATAM Cargo now has one more Boeing 767BCF aircraft, converting the 767-300 into a freighter. The aircraft will be owned by the Colombian division of LATAM, and will be responsible for flights from Latin American countries to the United States and Europe.

Altogether, LATAM plans to receive four Boeing 767-300BCF aircraft this year, with the next and last of 2022 arriving in September. With this growth, LATAM's cargo subsidiaries will have 16 freighters by the end of the year.

Next year, 2023, LATAM plans to receive six more Boeing 767-300BCF freighters. The goal is to end the year with 22 aircraft dedicated to cargo in 2023.

In the freighter conversion, Boeing removes the cabin seats to achieve a payload of up to 46 tonnes per flight. With this capacity, the 767 is still capable of carrying out medium and long-haul flights, placing LATAM as the main cargo operator in Latin America.

Boeing has taken advantage of the great demand for new cargo planes, in 2021 the manufacturer broke its record for sales of aircraft of the type. There were 80 orders for new aircraft from the factory and another 80 orders for conversions. Among the orders are also for aircraft converted from the B737-800.
