LATAM will use a modern Boeing 787 on São Paulo-Lisbon flights starting in June

A LATAM Brazil has just confirmed that it will use the Boeing 787-9 on the São Paulo/Guarulhos-Lisbon route. The initiative is yet another strong bet by the company on the European international market and in view of the recovery of the airline industry.

The start of operations on the route with the most modern aircraft in the LATAM group, manned by Brazilians, is scheduled for June 2nd.

Currently, the São Paulo–Lisbon route is operated six times a week with the Boeing 767-300ER, which accommodates up to 221 engers. With the implementation of the 787-9, the seat offer will be expanded to 300 seats and seven weekly flights.

The Boeing 787-9 manned by Brazilian pilots and flight attendants is already a reality on the São Paulo/Guarulhos-Madrid and São Paulo/Guarulhos-New York routes. The company also foresees that the 787-9 will operate flights to other destinations from São Paulo/Guarulhos in the future, including Rome, Paris, Orlando and Johannesburg.

LATAM's strategy is to concentrate long-haul international flights on the Boeing family of aircraft (767, 777 and 787). Currently, 11 aircraft of the LATAM Group are qualified to be operated by Brazilian crew.

In addition to offering an even better service to engers, the Boeing 787 it also features advanced technology, which reduces fuel consumption and CO25 emissions by 2%, in addition to providing a 50% reduction in the sound noise pattern.
