Emirates unveiled to the public the newest special livery on one of its A380s, this is the welcome with special messages from the Dubai Expo that will take place in the period of six months between October 1, 2021 to March 30, 2022 .
To celebrate the special occasion, Emirates applied a bold new color scheme with the blue color predominating the fuselage of the European Jumbo, in addition to large-scale graphics in green, orange, pink, purple and red.
Furthermore, the fuselage of the aircraft bears an image of the brave stuntwoman who was on top of the famous Burj Khalifa building last month in a viral ad for Emirates, where the flight attendant brings an invitation to visit the event on both sides of the aircraft, holding a message board that says: 'See you there' and 'Dubai Expo Out – Mar 2022'.
The new livery of the A6-EEU was designed, painted and installed in-house by Emirates teams. Contrary to what many imagine, the new painting is not adhesive, but a complete painting project. The process of painting the special paint and applying the decals took 16 days and 4.379 man hours to complete.
To receive the new livery, the A6-EEU had its traditional painting completely removed, after which eleven colors were applied to the aircraft, in a sequential manner. During the process, electrostatic guns and conventional cup guns were used to apply the different colors, using over 2.500m² of tracking material. All stencils and tracking guides were produced in-house by the airline's UV printers and graphics shop.
Interestingly, Emirates has a long tradition of displaying special liveries on its fleet of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s, and in the last five years alone, around 50 unique designs and 100 liveries have been brought to life by the airline's team.
