BOC Aviation said it managed to recover a Boeing 747-8 that was leased to the company AirBridgeCargo, from Russia. The aircraft was parked on the apron of Hong Kong Airport, and a US judge allowed the airline to repossess the plane.
According to BOC Aviation, the aircraft has a market value of US$148 million. In all, the company has two Boeing 747-8 aircraft leased to AirBridgeCargo, a cargo company that is a subsidiary of Volga-Dnepr. In Russia the leasing company has 18 aircraft leased.

Despite this, the BOC it still has not been able to take back the two aircraft mentioned above, since they flew from China to Russia, breaking a determination made by the company to the lessee.
Currently around 24 Boeing cargo planes, models 737 and 747, of the Russian airline AirbridgeCargo, will be paralyzed due to lack of parts, according to the company. The “western” arm of Volga-Dnepr, made up of the companies Atran and AirbridgeCargo, has 24 planes, 9 of which are 737s, 17 of the 747 model, and one more 777.
It is estimated that leasing companies have already managed to recover more than 75 planes operated by Russian airlines. However, around 400 planes from leasing companies are still confiscated by companies in the country, causing a loss of approximately US$ 10 billion.
