The C-27J Spartan Next Generation features new avionics in a glass flight deck with five multifunction color displays, a radar system for tactical transport missions and advanced communications systems. The system architecture ensures compatibility with other transport aircraft. It is easy to integrate with in-flight refueling, self-protection, communications security and ballistic protection systems to operate in high-threat environments, transporting materials, light vehicles and personnel whenever necessary.

With multiple roll-on/roll-off mission kits and easily deployable and easy-to-transport roll-on/roll-off mission systems, the C-27J can be quickly adapted to the configuration required for the current mission. The new Fire Fighter configuration, also previously acquired under cooperation agreements between Italy and Slovenia, features the MAFFS II (Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System) supplied on second generation pallets by United Aeronautical Corporation, a world leader in advanced aerial systems applied to firefighting.
