Leonardo and the Italian Government have signed a contract to supply the Slovenian Ministry of Defense with a second C-27J Spartan aircraft and related logistics and training services. The contract follows the Italy-Slovenia Government-to-Government (G2G) agreement signed on 17 November 2021, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The C-27J Spartan Next Generation features new avionics in a glass cockpit with five multi-function color displays, a radar system for tactical transport missions and advanced communications systems. The system architecture ensures compatibility with other transport aircraft. It is easily integrated with in-flight refueling, self-protection, communications security and ballistic protection systems to operate in high-threat environments, transporting materials, light vehicles and personnel whenever necessary.
With several easily deployable and transportable roll-on/roll-off mission kits and roll-on/roll-off mission systems, the C-27J can be quickly adapted to the configuration required for the current mission. The new Fire Fighter configuration, also previously acquired under cooperation agreements between Italy and Slovenia, features the MAFFS II (Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System) supplied on second-generation pallets by United Aeronautical Corporation, a world leader in advanced airborne systems applied to firefighting.
;
Read also:
Emirates s renewable aviation fuel research consortium
Air Europa flies on more than 180 routes in conjunction with other airlines
Brazil's leading role in the “flying car” market will be discussed at the Expo eVTOL Forum

;
;
Via: Leonardo
