At 17pm, Boca Juniors and Fluminense will compete in the Libertadores final at Maracanã, the most important intercontinental tournament in South America.
For the special event, Galeão airport (GIG) in recent days has been receiving a large movement of private aircraft and airlines, notably Aerolíneas Argentinas and jetSMART.
However, one aircraft has been attracting a lot of attention, it is the T-99, a Boeing 737-700 NG used to transport ionate Boca fans to watch the grand final in Rio de Janeiro.
For those who don't know, the Argentine Air Force (FAA) has a commercial airline focused on charter flights called LADE (Líneas Aéreas Del Estado), which uses FAA military aircraft for civil transport.
According to sources close to the matter, LADE was hired by an agency to bring fans to Rio, so the T-99 has already carried out 4 flights since last Thursday. Interestingly, LADE also offers charter services for cargo transportation, operated with the C-130 Hercules.
In April last year, the T-99 “Islas Malvinas” was used to transport the team and the technical committee of Club Atlético Independiente to Fortaleza, to play against Ceará SC in the Copa Sudamericana.
In addition to charter flights, the T-99 was recently used on repatriation flights from Tel Aviv, demonstrating that the aircraft is capable of performing a wide range of enger transport missions.
LADE also provides services with the Fokker F28-1000 Fellowship, also including the SAAB 340.
