To accelerate its expansion in Europe and other areas, LOT Polish Airlines will rent four Boeing 737 MAX 8 from two lessors, the Phoenix Aviation and AIP Capital. These new aircraft will reinforce its short and medium-haul fleet, allowing the airline to add new destinations and increase frequencies on key routes.
According to the statement of the LOT Polish Airlines, the agreement demonstrates the “Phoenix and AIP Capital’s focus on working with airline customers to provide flexible solutions, and LOT Polish Airlines’ goal of expanding its aircraft fleet to increase operational flexibility and accommodate network expansion”.
“We are thrilled to have completed this transaction with LOT Polish Airways”, said Mathew Adamo, Managing Partner da AIP Capital. “We look forward to expanding our relationship and continuing to LOT in managing their fleet.”
The new aircraft will the carrier’s current fleet of 83 aircraft, which operates 98 routes to 89 destinations in 50 countries. Long-haul destinations include cities in the United States, Canada, China, Japan and South Korea. The fleet is a mix of jets wide e narrow body, composed of 13 Boeing 737 MAX 8, six Boeing 737-800, 15 Boeing 787, 46 Embraer ERJ170/190, one DHC-8-Q400 and several aircraft in lease wet.
A LOT Polish Airlines has been increasing the number of flights in its network in recent years, competing with companies such as Ryanair e Wizz Air.
