Lufthansa opened its new terminal at Munich Airport last Friday (22/04). This new location has the capacity to receive 11 million engers a year, a higher number than airports in several Brazilian capitals. Its new satellite is part of Terminal 2 and has 125 thousand square meters for the movement of engers, in addition to 27 new boarding bridges.
The new location will allow Terminal 2 at Munich Airport to move 36 million engers a month, with a total area of almost 400 thousand square meters and 51 covered boarding bridges and 13 remote ones, originally T2 was opened in 2013, the satellite is part of a complement to further expand operations on site. The satellite will open on April 26, and is entirely intended for engers of the Lufthansa group, which also includes Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings.

“The expansion of Terminal 2 with this new satellite terminal makes the companies of the Lufthansa Group operating in Munich even better and more attractive for engers from all over the world” said Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa, during the inauguration event that received 1900 people.
Munich Airport is strategic for Lufthansa's operations, with more than 50 million engers ing through it a year, and the location is the airline's second largest hub in , second only to Frankfurt. The site will also serve as the start of operations for the new Airbus A350XWB, according to Lufthansa, the first 10 aircraft will be based there, to expand the long-haul network.

Lufthansa will also maintain 7 Lounges in Munich Terminal 2, with one lounge exclusively for first class, three Senator lounges and two lounges for business engers, as well as one Senator Café lounge. All offer bar service, showers, meals and internet connection, first-class customers even have the right to transport by Limousine when boarding is carried out at a remote gate.
