The Lufthansa Airbus A350-900 made its first commercial flight today from Munich Airport to Hamburg Helmut-Schmidt Airport.
Before landing in Hamburg and marking Lufthansa's first commercial flight with the Airbus A350XWB, the aircraft flew 700 meters above the ground near the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. This flight altitude has been predetermined by the German Air Traffic Control (Deutsche Flugsicherung) and based on weather conditions.
Shortly before that, employees working at the Airbus factory in Finkenwerder, , had the chance to ire the A350-900 during the flight. Within that same factory, important parts for this aircraft were built.
Flight LH350 then landed at Hamburg Airport, where it was welcomed by a Lufthansa team. Guest engers who purchased tickets for the first flight of the A350XWB in the Lufthansa fleet then disembarked in Hamburg and were received by several employees of the Lufthansa Group, Captain Martin Hoell spoke about the flight in an official statement at Hamburg Airport.
Lufthansa's CCO, Steffen Harbarth, also spoke at the end of the flight to Hamburg.
Lufthansa declares this event as one of the most important of the year and in its history. On February 02, Lufthansa officially presented the Airbus A350XWB in the company's colors with an event held inside a Lufthansa Technik hangar in Munich.
