This Thursday afternoon (02/02), and night in , Lufthansa presented the first Airbus A350-900XWB of its fleet. The ceremony lasted more than an hour and was held in the Lufthansa Technik hangar in Munich, , video projections and lights of different colors brought the event to life, in the end the projections started and the white curtain fell, as well as the new Lufthansa plane. Lufthansa has finally been introduced.
The traditional champagne bath marked the official “delivery” of the aircraft for it to start operations. The first Lufthansa A350XWB was given the baptismal name Nürnberg, in reference to the German city Nuremberg.
The President and CEO of Lufthansa, Carsten Spohr, led the ceremony for a few minutes, the CEO of Airbus Group, Tom Enders, also attended the event.

It took Lufthansa around three weeks and 1700 hours to install the new aircraft's interior, 20 Lufthansa Technik employees based in Munich, Hamburg and Frankfurt recently completed the job, and then the A350XWB was cleared to make its presentation.
The new jet should enter into service on February 10, flying from Munich to New Delhi, India. For this, the A350 first needs to receive its Supplementary Type Certificate (STC) by the European Aviation and Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the operation of flights in .
The Lufthansa A350-900 will be configured with 293 seats, with 48 seats in Business Class, 21 in Economy and 224 in Economy Class. In September 2013, Lufthansa ordered a total of 25 A350-900s. Of these, 10 will be based in Munich and 15 in Frankfurt.
The A350-900 will replace the company's A340 aircraft, as published here on Aeroflap on Monday. This new Lufthansa aircraft will introduce a new in-flight entertainment system, in addition to the larger screens, engers will be able to save their own playlist before the trip through the “Lufthansa Companion” app, the smartphone will work integrated with the aircraft’s onboard system.
During the flight, engers can choose content from their favorites list while searching for flight information, accessing social media sites via FlyNet and shopping online through the WorldShop.
