Qatar is selling its brand new Boeing 747-8i government VIP transport. The aircraft is d on the Controller site, for an unspecified amount.
This Boeing 747-8i plane was manufactured in 2012 at the American manufacturer's assembly line in Everett. Since then, the plane has spent almost two years at AMAC Aerospace's facilities only to receive a personalized interior, as shown in the photos.
In its main configuration, this aircraft has 18 crew and can carry 89 engers. With a master bedroom, guest bedroom, grand staircase, living rooms, offices and private rooms, general rooms, fully equipped kitchens and much more, this aircraft's art deco inspired and somewhat timeless interior is extremely luxurious, to say the least. Minimum.
This Boeing 747-8 is currently at the AMAC Aerospace Switzerland AG facility in Basel, Switzerland. The cost of a new aircraft at the time was $370 million, not counting that gorgeous custom interior.
The 747-8i represents the largest aircraft in the world that has been fully configured for VIP transport. Currently, two 747-8i are being heavily modified to serve as replacements for the two VC-25A Air Force One aircraft based on the 747-200 variant.
At the time, Qatar bought two aircraft of this model with the same interior. One was donated to Turkey, and another one is for sale.
