This Friday night (02/10) Madrid resumed a lockdown to manage to contain the spread of the coronavirus in the city. This was the first European city to a strong second wave of the virus in recent months, and also the first to take this kind of action again.
The measure implemented by the Local Government could severely affect the city, which is known for its tourist attractions. Barajas Airport, in Madrid, has already had some flights canceled, but it remains open and with international options, such as flights to Berlin, .
However, the transit of people within Spain to the city of Madrid will be stopped as much as possible, to prevent the spread of the virus across the country.
Trade, in turn, will need to follow strict opening hours, reducing its capacity to receive people by half, including restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make up Madrid's bustling nightlife.
In addition to Madrid, 11 other cities in Spain are in a similar lockdown.
