Sukhoi presented the first Su-57 Felon fifth-generation fighter simulator equipped with virtual reality glasses. The novelty was presented this Friday (23) by Yuri Zavgorodnev, one of the leaders of Sukhoi, who spoke to reporters from the Russian agency TASS at the International Aerospace Salon MAKS 2021.
The simulator should be used to train future Su-57E pilots, an export variant of the Russian stealth fighter. “The concept has already taken a step forward. Introducing the interactive Su-57E simulator”, said the aeronautical manufacturer official, noting that the virtual reality simulator for the Su-35 Flanke-E was presented at the 2019 edition of MAKS.

“We present a more advanced technology. Two multifunctional displays are physically present in the Su-57 simulator, along with one of the latest virtual reality glasses, with very good graphics, allowing you to view the situation inside and outside the cockpit in high resolution.” Yuri also stated that multifunctional displays make it possible to complement the virtual image with tactile sensations.
Just this week, Alexander Mikheyev, CEO of exporter Rosoboronexport, said that Russia is talking to five unspecified countries that have interest in acquiring the Sukhoi Su-57 stealth fighter, called Felon by NATO. In February, a spokesman for the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation said that the country received several requests for the export template of the fifth generation aircraft. The Russian Aerospace Force took delivery of its first production Su-57 in December 2020.
