MESA Airlines, the American regional airline that operates under the American Eagle and United Airlines brand, has extended the agreement to acquire more Embraer Ejets E175 that will operate under the United brand. In total there are 3 additional aircraft that will go to United Express, currently the airline operates 30 jets of the Ejet family, in addition to an order signed in October for another 15 aircraft operated by Mesa Airlines, all Ejets will be delivered in 2016.
United Express itself currently has 108 Ejet family aircraft in its fleet, 70 E175s and 38 E170s, divided between Mesa Airlines, SkyWest Airlines and Shuttle America. In addition to the Embraer aircraft, Mesa currently operates 20 Bombardier CRJ-700s under the United Express brand, but without further orders. The standard interior configuration for the E175 is 76 seats in three classes, 12 seats in First Class, 16 in economy and 48 seats in economy.
