The National Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SAC) of the Ministry of Infrastructure authorized the start of the bidding process for works to renovate and expand the regional airport of Tangará da Serra/MT.

Through the National Civil Aviation Fund (FNAC), R$ 4 million will be allocated. The total value of the work is R$ 10 million, 60% of which will be provided by the state.

The project prepared by the state government includes the resurfacing of the entire landing and takeoff runway, maintaining its dimensions at 1.500 x 30 m, the construction of a new aircraft yard with more than 15 square meters and a new taxiway, both already with a pavement structure. for larger jets.

Drainage works are also planned, in addition to horizontal signage, vertical signage, light beaconing, patio lighting, lighted windsock, PAPI and rotating lighthouse.

SAC's director of investments, Eduardo Bernardi, highlighted the importance of investment for the region: “Tangará da Serra is an important regional agro-industrial hub. This stage of works will allow the municipality to expand commercial flights with larger aircraft, such as the ATR 72, bringing more development to the region", said.

The forecast is that the public notice will be published by the Government of the State of Mato Grosso and within 45 days.
