Modern Logistics will expand its presence in Latin America, with the inclusion of five countries on its route. The new operation, which will begin on August 15, is part of the company's two-stage expansion strategy. In this first phase, Modern Logistics will expand Modern's service to Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. The second phase will target Mexico and the US within six to twelve months.
Over the last decade, Modern Logistics has grown to become the dominant integrated services company in the Brazilian logistics market. Having consolidated its position in the vast Brazilian logistics sector, the company now seeks to materially expand its logistics services across South America, leveraging its dominant position in the industry to firmly establish a market presence ahead of emerging competition.
The availability of the two “next generation” (NG) aircraft, an important milestone for the company, will significantly enhance Modern Logistics' capabilities in expanding into other Latin American markets, particularly Argentina, Colombia and Central America, as well as establishing a facility in Miami. For the first time, the larger, more efficient aircraft will position the company to more easily increase market share internationally.
Modern Logistics currently has two Classic 737s in its fleet. The introduction of the new 737-800s is part of a fleet renewal to increase efficiency and enable operational international expansion.
Infrastructure
Modern Logistics, founded in 2012, is an integrated logistics company headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil, and is pioneering the development of a one-stop shop model using air freighters to provide logistics services that are materially accelerating supply chains across the country.
Modern Logistics' operations are ed by a vast 32.000 square foot cargo facility in Viracopos, which is capable of accommodating multiple cargo aircraft simultaneously.
The facility is equipped to meet risk management requirements for transporting high-value cargo across a variety of segments such as industrial, automotive, technology, apparel, electronics and now pharmaceuticals. More recently, a special distribution center was opened in Viracopos serving exclusively the pharmaceutical sector. The opening of this CD makes Modern Logistics the first integrated logistics company in Brazil to have, in a national terminal, its own warehouse equipped in accordance with Anvisa's requirements to serve the pharmaceutical industry.
In addition to the Boeing 737 fleet, the company has more than 6.000 partner vehicles approved for ground operations. Through its seven distribution centers and cargo terminals, goods are efficiently directed to customers via the company's air and road network from its base of operations in Viracopos, in Campinas–SP.
