As part of the commemorations referring to the 149th Anniversary of Santos Dumont and the Bicentennial of the Independence of Brazil, the life-size replica of the new multi-mission fighter F-39 Gripen, from the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), will be open to visitors, from July 31st to August 22nd, at the Aerospace Museum (MUSAL), in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
Visitors will be able to access the aircraft's cockpit and enjoy an exhibition on Fighter Aviation, made up of s that present all the fighter aircraft that the FAB has used since its creation.
Access to all exhibition areas of the Aerospace Museum is free. Only the visit to the cabin of the Gripen replica will be by appointment.
The aircraft, reproduced in full size, arrives on Rio de Janeiro's soil to share with the visitor the same experience of a FAB fighter pilot in the cockpit. Approximately 15 meters long, eight meters wide and four meters high, the replica was produced in fiberglass, wood and metal.
