As the newest ATR to make up Azul's fleet, an ATR 72-600 ed PR-YXB is currently on its way to Brazil.
The aircraft was exhibited at the Paris Air Show to show ATR's new differential: the brand new Pratt & Whitney PW127XT engine, more efficient by up to 3% compared to its previous generation and emits 45% less CO₂ compared to other regional aircraft in the category . Also according to the manufacturer, the model's maintenance costs could drop by up to 20%, making the PR-YXB the first ATR-72 to use the new engines in Latin America.

With the delivery, Azul now owns a fleet of 40 turboprop aircraft, demonstrating its commitment in the regional segment. Still in the second half, Azul should receive a second ATR with the new engine: it is the PR-YXC (MSN 1667), which recently received the company's new painting at the Airbus plant in Toulouse (TLS) and will use the license plate of F-WWEM tests.
On arrival in Brazil, the aircraft will travel on the Toulouse (TLS) – Lanzarote (ACE) – Natal (NAT) – Confins (CNF) route, a route of 8.393 km (5.216 miles) in total.
