The partnership between the State government and the City Hall involves an investment of more than R$ 13 million, and was signed this Wednesday (08), during Governor Helder Barbalho's work schedule in the region. The airfield will also receive lighting, in order to operate without interruptions.

“I want to celebrate the set of agreements signed today between the State Government and the Municipality of Novo Progresso. But one is special, which Gelson (mayor) asked me to do: the airport, which for some seems far away. Can someone ask a question: what do I get with the airport? Is it only for those who have money or plane? Do not. An airport saves lives, and we are guaranteeing a paved airport, with lighting to operate 24 hours a day, which can also transport patients who need care outside the municipality. Furthermore, when a businessman thinks about investing in a municipality, he asks: does it have an airport? Just because he needs it. But it's not the most important thing. When the entrepreneur comes, a business operation is opened, and that generates jobs, and with jobs comes the income that the worker needs so much to put food on the table”, explained Helder Barbalho.

The mayor of Novo Progresso, Gelson Dill, stated that partnerships with the state government are important for the development of the municipality.

“Governor Helder is a great partner. He demonstrated this in the delivery of machinery last year, and now he returns to our municipality with several work orders, including the paving of the runway at the municipal airport”, highlighted the mayor.
