Omnisys, a subsidiary of Thales in Brazil, in a consortium with Clemar Engenharia, signed a contract with the Commission for the Implementation of the Airspace Control System (CISCEA) in February 2021 for the supply of secondary surveillance radars to optimize the airspace control in Petrolina (PE) and Bom Jesus da Lapa (BA).
Manufactured in Brazil, at the Omnisys unit in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), the RSM970S radars have local and strategic defense product certification from the Brazilian Ministry of Defense. The contract also includes a two-year warranty, supply of spare parts and maintenance services. After the warranty period, the radars will also be ed by Omnisys through its existing installed base maintenance contract entered into with the Brazilian Air Force.
With more than 200 units in operation in 53 countries and 68 of these units operating in Brazil alone, the RSM970S secondary radar uses innovative and cutting-edge technologies, ensuring complete integration and availability of surveillance and communication data, as well as high reliability and compliance with international recommendations and standards for air traffic control.

Omnisys is a global manufacturer of radars from the Thales group, with its production not only for Brazil, but also for export to Latin America, Asia and Europe. The Brazilian Air Force inaugurated the first of four stations with primary and secondary surveillance radars produced by Omnisys, in August 2020, to help combat illegal air traffic of cargo on the borders with Bolivia and Paraguay, in the region of Corumbá ( MS).
Clemar is a civil engineering company certified by Thales as a Key Industrial Partner (KIP) and Omnisys' partner in this project, being responsible for providing the civil infrastructure for installing the radars. Omnisys and Clemar have a successful long-term partnership and have worked together to implement several radar sites in Brazil.
“The partnership with CISCEA confirms Omnisys' commitment to the security and sovereignty of our country. We seek to strengthen the Brazilian defense industry and also take locally developed technology abroad. Omnisys cutting-edge technology is placed at the service of Brazil”.Luiz Henriques, CEO, Omnisys Engenharia.
“The implementation of new technologies and equipment is a permanent strategic concern of the Brazilian Air Force and the Department of Airspace Control, aimed at maintaining Sovereignty and National Defense. Omnisys has been a great partner of CISCEA by providing equipment with the latest technology. In addition, domestic manufacturing is logistically and economically efficient, maintaining a high level of equipment availability for employability in the Brazilian Airspace Control System (SISCEAB)”. Air Brigadier Sérgio Rodrigues Pereira Bastos Junior, President of CISCEA.
