With this heightened tension in the Middle East region, more specifically in Iran, Iraq and with the US involved, much is said about things that happened such as the attack on Iranian general Qassem Soleimani and the attack by Iran on two US bases in Iraq as way to fight back the US attack.
In the midst of this tension, Flight PS-752 was mistakenly shot down by the Iranian Revolutionary Force, using a missile to bring down the Ukraine International Airlines aircraft, which was full of civilians, and fulfilling a commercial flight between Tehran and Kiev.
The plane crashed shortly after takeoff. The 167 engers and 9 crew did not survive.
But in the history of aviation there have already been confirmed cases of slaughter, check out some stories below:
- MH-17 Malaysia Airlines:
So far, this was the most recent case of a commercial aircraft being shot down. The Asian company's Boeing 777-200 was on a flight between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur in July 2014.
The aircraft was flying in the Donetsk region and was carrying 295 people, when it was shot down by a surface-to-air missile (BUK) that according to some sources may have been launched by pro-Russian separatists, but they deny responsibility to this day.
This was the largest slaughter in of fatalities.

- Korean Air Flight 902:
In April 1978, a Boeing 707 on the Paris-Seoul route was shot down by Soviet fighters while flying over the Murmansk region of the Soviet Union.
According to reports the 707 entered a restricted zone, after being fired upon, the 707 pilot managed to make a forced landing.
Two of the 107 people died on that occasion.
It is not possible to know for sure if the shots given by the Soviet pilots had a real intention of killing or just a warning.
- Air Rhodesia Flight 825:
In the same year as Flight 902, but in September, a Vickers 748D with prefix YP-YNC was on Air Rhodesia Flight 825, between Kariba-Salisbury, when it was shot down by a missile from insurgents from Zimbabwe.
In the fall 38 people out of 58 died, and 10 more were killed by the insurgents who shot at the victims.
1978 and 1979 were bad years for Air Rhodesia. In 1979, a flight along the same route was shot down by Zimbabwean insurgents, killing 59 people.
- Flight 007 Korean Airlines:
The Boeing 747-200 was on a flight between New York and Seoul, when in September 1983 Soviet fighters intercepted the large Boeing and ordered the pilots to change course.
By failing to comply with the order of the Soviet military, the Boeing 747 was shot down by missiles, causing the plane to fall into the Sea of Japan killing all 269 people.
- Flight 655 Iran Air:
In this list of slaughters we also have an Airbus 300 of the Iranian company, which fulfilled the Tehran-Dubai route on July 03, 1988.
This time the missile that hit the aircraft came from a US Navy cruiser, the USS Vincennes that was in the region and mistakenly hit the commercial aircraft. All 290 engers died.
At the time of the incident, there was a war between Iran and Iraq.
This video explains a little more about what happened:
- Flight 1812 Siberia Airlines:
In 2001 a TU-154 was supposed to fly between Tel Aviv and the Novosibirsk region, in the Black Sea region. However, the aircraft crashed killing all 78 people on board.
Until today it has not been possible to know for sure the reasons for the crash of the aircraft, the biggest suspicions fall on Ukraine, they claimed that "an errant missile" may have hit the Tupolev.
