The author, who is also the founder of Embraer, presents the work 'Routes for Entrepreneurship', with tips on how to create a successful venture and details of his professional career
“Creating a company is like flying, it starts with a dream”. This is one of the most emblematic phrases of Dr. Ozires Silva, President of the Strategic Council of Ânima Educação, which has just launched the book 'Routes to Entrepreneurship'.
The work, which is already available for sale on Editora Letramento's website and in the best stores online and bookstores in the country, is part of the celebrations of the author's 90th birthday completed this year. And it will soon have an e-book version, in Portuguese and English, to contemplate even foreign irers.
Adaptation of the original work, entitled 'Letters to a Young Entrepreneur', the book makes an important exposition about entrepreneurship and innovation, with secrets and virtues to overcome the challenges that define success in any undertaking and the necessary steps to create and maintain an enterprise .
In addition, it brings interesting aspects of Ozires Silva's professional career. The preface of the work is signed by Marcelo Battistella Bueno, president of Ânima, one of the largest private educational organizations in the country, in addition to Daniel Castanho and Maurício Escobar, respectively President and Member of the Board of Directors of the company.
According to Dr. Ozires, 'Routes to Entrepreneurship' aims to enthuse and show those who already have a business or are thinking of becoming an entrepreneur that it is possible to overcome challenges.
“Each one has an idea of doing something, but in general it does not proceed. The book gives a complete idea of what it was like to create one of the great aircraft manufacturers in the world. So that through this work, of extremely fast reading, the reader will be able to see that undertaking and innovating is difficult, but not as much as we put in our heads. Therefore, my message is that it is possible to desire something that today seems unattainable”, he adds.
Before sharing his formulas for a successful journey in entrepreneurship, Dr. Ozires Silva has published five other books: 'On the wings of education: Embraer's trajectory', 'Letters to a young entrepreneur – make your dream come true: it's worth it', 'The take-off of a dream: the story of Embraer's creation' and 'Ethanol: the green and yellow revolution'. And, in 2011, his biography entitled 'A leader of innovation: biography of the creator of Embraer' was released.
The story of Ozires began on January 08, 1931, in Bauru, in the interior of São Paulo. He is an Air Force officer and an engineer graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico da Aeronáutica (ITA), where he began to take his first steps in aviation until arriving in 1969, when he commanded the group that promoted the creation of Embraer, which he presided over until 1986.
The entrepreneur has successful ages as president of companies such as Petrobras and was Minister of Infrastructure.
In April 2021, Ozires Silva became the first Brazilian to receive the Guggenheim Medal, one of the most relevant international aeronautical engineering honors in the world.
The commendation was created in 1929 with the aim of recognizing personalities who have dedicated their lives to aeronautical development throughout history and are therefore notable in the sector.
The appointment was made by a board of experts from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), SAE International and the Vertical Flight Society of the United States.
At Ânima Educação, Dr. Ozires began in 2008, when he took over as president of Unimonte, in Santos/SP (today called São Judas Campus Unimonte). He was the highest leader of the institution until October 2018 when he became Chancellor of Universidade São Judas, in São Paulo. Currently, Dr. Ozires Silva occupies the position of President of the Strategic Council of Ânima and is Patron of Engineering and Aviation courses in educational institutions of the educational organization throughout the country.
