After a sequence of increases in aviation fuel prices, something that already affects the finances of companies in the sector, Petrobras has now announced the first price reduction for these fuels, after several months.
According to the state-owned company, Aviation Kerosene (QAV) will have a 2,7% reduction in the final price, and Aviation Gasoline (AVGAS) will have a 5,7% reduction.
This reduction follows the evolution of reference prices, which stabilized at a lower level for gasoline. In recent days, the price of a barrel of oil has retreated, despite the rise in the dollar against the real.
It is also important to point out that the QAV represents more than a third of airline costs and that its value is up to 40% higher than the global average. The price of fuel is influenced by Petrobras' pricing, which charges in dollars for an input whose domestic production level exceeds 90%.
"The price is consistent with Petrobras' pricing practice, which seeks to balance its prices with the global market, but without ing on to domestic prices the conjunctural volatility of international prices and the exchange rate", said the company in official note.
The Brazilian Association of Airlines (ABEAR) points out that the price of aviation kerosene (QAV) increased by 137,8% in May, compared to the same month of 2019, a variation much higher than the increase in air tickets (22%) in the same comparison, as announced on the last day July 21 the National Aviation Agency (ANAC).
