Founded in 1976, Skytech Inc. is a specialty service provider and aircraft supplier with two locations in the US states of Maryland and South Carolina. As of a next succession plan, the Pilate announced the acquisition of Skytech, a company specializing in the sale of executive aircraft.
Skytech has operated as an Independent Pilatus Authorized Sales and Service Center since 1993. With a successor to replace co-founder and owner John Foster, Pilatus has decided to acquire its partner of many years. Purchasing business to operate as an independent company with responsibility for the manufacturer's East Coast business as well as aircraft types from other manufacturers. The Skytech brand will also remain. Current Skytech CEO Justin Lazzeri will lead the company into the future with his team, which includes many longtime employees. Both Rock Hill (South Carolina) and Baltimore (Maryland) business locations are included with purchase.
Expansion in the US
This acquisition will allow Pilatus to expand its direct operations in the American market, a market of great importance for the company. Pilatus already has a Colorado-based subsidiary operation, Pilatus Business Aircraft Ltd, which has been in business for 26 years. Acting as Pilatus' general importer and completion center for North and South America, is also responsible for managing the network of Pilatus Authorized Sales and Service Centers, marketing and final assembly work.
Direct sales to fleets and government customers are also carried out through the Colorado operation. To assist its sales and service partners, Pilatus will use the acquisition of Skytech to further ensure and improve the maintenance of its award-winning services and the quality of its award-winning customers on the US East Coast.
